What is A Seed to Hatch?
A Seed to Hatch is a personal newsletter for the discussion of the writing life and things writers might find interesting. The title is borrowed from my chapbook of erasure poetry and is meant to evoke the process of breaking out of one’s shell.
Although the focus of this newsletter will mainly be on writing and goal setting, my interests vary wildly — from poetry to travel, from books to horror movies and video games.

Who are you?
I’m Andrea Blythe, a writer of speculative poetry and fiction. I’m the the author of two chapbooks of poetry — Your Molten Heart / A Seed to Hatch (2018) a collection of erasure poems created from the pages of Trader Joe’s Fearless Flyers, and the coauthor of Every Girl Becomes the Wolf (Finishing Line Press, 2018), a collaborative chapbook written with Laura Madeline Wiseman. My fiction and poetry has also appeared in publications such as Luna Station Quarterly, Corvid Queen, Slink Chunk Press, Linden Avenue, and Strange Horizons, and has been nominated for a several awards.
I’m also the cohost of the New Books in Poetry podcast, in which I speak with poetry about their work and process.
